We are very excited to announce that we will be running not one, but two Puppetry
training opportunities in 2024, in Brighton.
First up our very popular one-day training on March 27th 2024.
A one-day introductory workshop, focusing on techniques to teach, practice and perform
puppetry using our signature PuppetBox puppets. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced puppeteer we can help you develop your skills in puppetry performance.
The cost is £65, but we are running an early bird offer of £55 if the place is booked
and paid for by Jan 31st. You can pay for this course HERE.
Secondly - due to high demand - we are running a two-day more advanced
course on March 19th and 20th 2024.
This is suitable if you have done our one-day course already and want to extend your
skills, or if you are a practitioner or performer and want the chance to focus on
technique in more depth. It will give you more of a chance to explore ways into making work and develop ideas. Two days of puppetry performance and devising techniques in a playful safe
environment.
The cost is £110 but we are running an early bird offer of £95 if the place is booked
and paid for by Jan 31st. You can pay for this course HERE.
Both workshops will be primarily using our PuppetBox rod puppets designed by
Annie Brooks, we will be covering key areas such as focus, independence, active
stillness and breath in both of them. We will also look at ways into devising work with
puppetry.
Our courses are designed and delivered by PuppetBox's founders who have
devised, written and performed in many successful puppet shows. They have taught
puppetry and theatre-making in the community, in schools, drama schools and
universities. The PuppetBox approach is fun, accessible and effective.
To secure your place, please pay £30 deposit by BACS to:

“I loved every part of the session. I came away with a solid foundation of learning
about the key elements of puppetry. It gave me the confidence I needed to create
scenes and give the puppet life.’
“It was a really lovely day. I would 100% recommend to others.”
